My role: 

I’ve only recently become involved with 2BU since a chance encounter happened. I’m a volunteer at the group, I get involved and help in the activities, I provide support when needed to the young people who come to the group and listening ear when they need someone to talk to. Wednesday evenings have rapidly become my most favourite evening of the week, I never thought I’d be a volunteer in anything but I’m glad chose to do it with this organisation, I hope to continue for many years!

Update 

Since starting with 2BU 2 years ago as a volunteer, I’m now lucky enough to work as an LGBTQ+ Youth Outreach Worker for West Somerset. I go into schools, colleges and other youth organisations across Somerset, to join in with their Pride groups, as well as offering 1:1 support and getting involved with 2BU’s own groups! Lending an ear to listen, a good game of Uno (which I usually lose at!) and sometimes speaking from my own experiences, can sometimes be all thats needed to make a young person realise they are heard, they are valid and what they feel is completely okay. I have the absolute pleasure of witnessing everyday, what our young people can achieve within themselves, when they realise it’s ok2bu!

I am most proud of: 

The progress I have made with myself, mentally and physically. Seeing the changes I’ve made to become the best person I can for my family and friends.

My perfect holiday would be: 

travelling to some historical sights.

My ultimate three course meal would be: 

Garlic breaded mushrooms, my grandmas cottage pie
Finished off with her stewed apples and custard....grandmas cooking is the best!
